Flowerhorn Help- Is my fader sick? (Pics)

My fish recently faded and is still in the process. I recently noticed black spots on his face, mouth and head area. Please help

Dark markings come and go. Could be natural, dark surroundings or stress but they do appear and disappear in time. Here’s an example of the same fish at 3 inches and 9 inches:

Natural , especially after color changes, will probably disappear with time

Your FH is a female probably and also shes fading. This is natural when it comes to faders. No worries here.

Looks female to me, try putting a pot in there.
