hello all, I don't see many flowerhorns in my part of the world,I just seen these which are quite close to me,they look different to the ones I have seen on forums, are they any good? If so, to get a good specimen should I buy say half a dozen, don't want to breed them, just want one nice display fish, how long can I keep half a dozen together before they start killing each other?

Thanks for any help/info you can give.

Thanks for the reply fishfreak317 , yeah they did look different that's why I asked first, It's great to be able to ask quetions on forums like these, thanks again.

Well, you get what you pay for in this case. $5-$10 is a fair deal for that quality of frys. They arent high quality, but the price arent expensive! If you buy ten, you'd just have ten ugly FHs and a bunch of trouble in the tank and none of them would be at full potential or happy.. Not like you can fuse all their beauties into one. Know what I mean? If it was me, I'd used that money for ten, and look for one nice one that's ten times better..

But those frys arent going to be that bad. If you know the mother, then it'd be nicer to judge. The father seems a bit young, but he's got high yellow potential as an adult.

If you have problems finding FHs around your town, You should get one or two to raise. Thay are pretty cool. And if you can spend $150 for frys and shipping, I can send you a few frys which you can be proud of.

I wouldn't get my hopes up on getting any really nice colorfull, and pearly, and big kok, and nice fins. You may get a few that have one or two of those traits, but definatly not all. Try to email some of the trusted sellers on ebay or their transhippers. They may have someone in Australia that can ship to you. Rainybetta, Lakefish, ponjiwantit, thegroup, and a few more. Just check the feedback to make sure they have good reviews. Stay away from the zero/low feedback people.
