always wanted to clear this up. I've had Mr Mighty for over 2 years and he's 13 inches long and 6 inches wide at the head, and will bite and crash off the glass at certain family members but lets me pet him. Anyway he was sold to me as a Red Shock by a very reputable LFS but I've never confirmed. What do you guys think? ps. I've got a large 12 inch male amph Citrilinus that can't even come close in thickness to this guy.

thanks guys, hmmm, but I wonder about a rose queen, It's possible I guess, I breed Rose queens, along with numerous other fish. Red Monkey for sure though. but don't all Red Shocks have white eyes ? I'll get better pics

This is not even close to a Red Monkey or Red Shock at all. A Rose Queen? Possibly...but there is a good chance it is a Midas/Devil as well. And yes Midas/Devil can be white eyes too.

this is the reason amphilophus hybrid are discouraged.

thanks guys, the pic is a bad one and he's not plain colored, he has black fades can be seen at times in his body with dark red to pink floral patterns along his jaws and flanks into his tail depending on his mood, also there are splashes of red on the upper parts of his eyes, as well as a dark black spot on his underbelly, hard to take a pic of him because he never stays still when anyone approaches the tank, not even for a second. He really is an intensely beautiful fish with huge personality. Just like a dog, lol, I'm serious.

Amphilophus and flowerhorns make the best wet pets they have a ton of personality. Your fish has a lot of amphilophus id say 75% the rest of its genetics are probably synspilum or blood parrot.
