I just bought this guy(which i thought was a Texas/Flowerhorn) for $12.99.I bought him to pair up with my female Red Texas because he has really nice pearls and is already displaying the start of a hump.He was flawless before I put him with her but she kicked his @ss in about 15 minutes.Anyways,I put them in a divided 75gal and they're both clearing gravel at the divider.Anyways,is this any specific kind of Flowerhorn or is it just what I expected? Thanks

Also, this is my first Flowerhorn, don't hate....

This looks to be crossed with some Texas, it also resembles a pearly kamfa (which are sterile in most cases). GL with the breeding

looks like a petland red texas. not trying to disrespect. its really nice just wa i think

I took a good look at it and went through my pic collection and then compared it carefully to my Red Texas male. He has much more red dispersed under the white spots and all over his gill covers. There is a thin red background all over his body behind the gills. His dorsal pearls are blue. I'm only guessing, but your fish looks like it might be a Red Texas-carpinte hybrid. RT males are also very vicious.

I was thinking the same,it's very likely that he was an attempt at a Red Texas. I'm kinda regretful about putting him in a tank that she had already established cause she seriously tore him up but he's healing up fine. I put them in their divided 75 and they took to eachother immediately! They both cleared spots next to the divider so i raised up the temp and her vent dropped.Of course I got bit overzealous and opened the slot in the divider just to "test the water" and it was insane, they're a perfect match!...Sorry,i don't know how to make the pics bigger when it's not the start to a new thread.Help?
