Oregon, it's part of 'Murica!
Finally figured out how to use the manual focus so here are some better pics and a video. Short body or Bonsai? Male or Female? Breed? Poor little guy still has ick but I'm treating with CopperSafe.

I'm willing to bet that it will turn out to be a male. A bonsai it is, as for ID on strain. I'm clueless...for now.

Which strains breed at like 2 years or at an older age?

its a bonsai, ZZ based..

Which strain doesnt breed till 2 years? Kamfa in some cases take till 2 years to mature fully..

Normal ZZ females will lay eggs at as little as 8cm, usually males wont fertilize eggs properly till they are about 12 or 13cm..

For bonsai it is harder to say a size, but i would say about 6-9 months old..

Well if its anything like parrots I would say 3 inches. I will give him some time before I introduce him to a female parrot.

Yes, it would be the same as with parrots for breeding..
And no, i wouldnt say kamfa based at all..
I would say male, but i cant see the vent very well in those pics sorry..
quite a nice little fish by the way, good luck breeding it in the future
