I was curious if anyone could help identify the type of flowerhorn I have and your opinion on his grade... although this doesn't really matter because I love him either way. I'm just really curious and all negative or positive feedback will not make me like him anymore.
He is mine and has the best personality I have ever had in a fish.

Looks like a Super red dragon with some kamfa mixed in. I don't know what you want to me to tell you when it comes to grade. It's a nice looking fish but it's up to the eye of the beholder. It's shooting the **** when it comes to grade. I could say this is an A when this could be someone else's B. Obviously actual competitions probably have their own criteria they follow for grading but outside of competition it's subjective. Everyone has their preferences.

I agree with HybridFinatic HybridFinatic
As for grading, it really is about what you think. I would say that it is very nice, especially if those red and blues are fired up.

I'd agree that it's a ZZ Red Dragon. As for a grade I'd probably give him a B+ just due to him not having the brightest red color and the flowerline is not fully connected as well as it's not straight. Still a nice looking FH tho, love the pearling on his kok. Only thing I would work on his getting his gut to slim down just a lil bit. It's healthy for em to have a gut just after feeding but it shouldn't linger for more then a few hours afterwards. I would suggest setting up a fasting day once a week where he doesn't get fed at all the entire day. This help keep em nice and lean without developing a beer gut lol.

Thanks for the reply. I have started setting a Sunday fasting day for all of my fish as I see the importance also for their digestive system.

Thanks for the reply and I now definitely have a better understanding of the flowers. I have enjoyed learning as much as I can about flowerhorns!!
