Got this guy from a lfs. He was in a 30 gal tank with 4 parts. Infront of a window full of algae. What kind is it?

I don’t know much about fh breed, but they do!

The fish does look stressed, which may make getting a proper ID hard.

Ya he's definitely stressed the tank he was in was in horrible condition

Turn the lights off and add some salt to the tank for a while and see if that helps with the stress. Also keep up on water changes.

I don’t think adding salt will be necessary. He just needs some time.
Of course, once he’s acting like a normal flowerhorn…he will quickly turn on the parrots.

Salt most definitely isn’t 100% necessary but don’t think it would hurt to add some
