ok i have a what i beleive to be a ZZ flower horn which is just under 2.5" atm. he is in his own 10G tank which gets 40-50% changes twice a week. when i sell some of my festae (this week probably) he can go into my 30G for a while.

what should i be feeding him, so far ive fed him dehydrated bloodworms, cichlid gold and NLS sinking pellets.

he is not all that colourful at the moment but has a decent visable flowerline and good fins.

anything i can do to colourhim up a bit?? also i cant get chingmix or grand sumo in this country.

dried shrimp brings out nice color to the FHs
and the genes also are a great factor to color
any chiclid food will do good for the FH

keep in mind FHs grow very fast
some strains are just ridiculous at growth rate

my ZZ grew from 2" to 7"+ in just 5.5"
they kinda get extreme aggressive once they reach the 5"+ mark *atleast thats what happened in my case*

too much water change...its bad,....cut it down to about 15%/wk

ok im used to doing big water changes, i do 50% on all my tanks cause there bigger, never really owned such a small tank beofore.

with FHs its good if they get 10% water change everyday
and they have to be fed nearly 3 times a day in small portions that will ensure your FH gets a good bulky body shape

ok, how much do you mean by small amounts? if i fed him 5 NLS 3 times daily would that be enough? the NLS is amount 3mm pellets. but fairly bulky they only just fit in his mouth.

hmmm i don't know about NLS
i used to feed him taiyo FH abay pellets pretty small
used to feed him such that he could finish it in a minute or two

yeh but i dont think i can get them here.

dried shrimp, blood worms, earthworms(from the bait shop) all of these will do good
