Have you tested your water?
Yes
If I did not test my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?
Yes

Hi, one year ago my flowerhorn suffered from HITH but recovered. The holes covered up but left pits. He’s been fine up until now where I found the pit in his head to be pink and swollen. I Immediately did a water change and went to see if there was any other changes in behaviour or eating habits. He seems to be doing well and acts normally. His poops normal and all looks fine. The next day however, the swollen spot on his head seemed to have popped or something, as it is now red and has reopened the hole in his head. I tried thinking about anything I’ve done different to his tank and the only thing I could think of was changing the brand of slime coat I give him. After a few days I noticed the hole had Been covered up in what looks like puss? Other than the hole in his head he seems happy and well. I just wanted to post this in case it could be anything serious. Any information that any of you have is appreciated. try siphoning it see what happens..

I’d try some triple sulfa. Sounds and looks like it got infected. Dab the area with some methylene blue.

Alright I’ll try it, until I get some however, do you think it’s something serious? Will he be able to recover from it on his own?

Seen others post something similar and the fish end up dying. Similar story too. Better to be safe than sorry.
