flowerhorn lip injury

Hey guys

My little flowerhorn had a small bottom lip injury when I got him, It started to get worse and now he is missing some of the lip. I medicated the tank and stopped any infection or fungus.The injury has stopped growing but he is always digging in gravel or bumping the glass and not letting it heal.


How can I help him with this ? and will cartilage on his lip regrow ?

i say just give him a little time and everything should be as good as new is he eating good???? if so he should bounce back

He is eating very well and acts like nothing is wrong, I was just worried it may be a on going problem. thank you.

I had a pike cichlid with a this problem and the part of the lip that had the infection never grew back. I treated him with salt and raised the temp and the infection disapeared but there was always a part of his lip that kind of looked like cleffpallet.
I hope yours doesn't end up like mine!

my female fh and a midas locked lips and she was hurt but in a few weeks she was good as new
