Flowerhorn Male or Female

was under the impression that it was male but i just happen to notice the script on the top fin and was told only females have that trait

Looks like a male but that spot on the dorsal fin makes me wonder.

Looks more male to me because of the KOK. The black dorsal spot is usually in females though. And Kok normally males. But some females have pretty large koks at times.

I think the best way to tell would be to vent it

It looks female to me based on the weight being distributed more towards the stomach than in the chest. And I'd guess less than .1% of males have dorsal markings. Venting is the only way to be sure with this fh though, if u can catch it and take some pics we should be able to help
