I've had about two dozen large Flowerhorns as pets. Some I purchased as adults. Some I've raised. I now own five and of these, two have mouths that never fully close. I have a young adult White Pearl big hump F/H and a Very large adult Red ZZ F/H that never seem to close their mouths. They swim, eat and sleep with their mouths partialy open. (They DO clamp shut when biting food, etc.) This isn't caused by an injury. Is it a trait of the sub species? The fish I own are not related genetically.
