to small fish. I put him with 2 7" oscars and one 7 " midas. he nearly killed them before I moved them to a new tank. So he stayed with one 6" pleco in a 120 g. later I added three convicts 2-4" and three cloan loaches 1 blue gouami, one 4" african cichilid. now they 10 share the tank. FH does not bother the small fish at all. So FH can cohabitat with small fsh that do not pose a threat for him.

give it time. you can keep the FH well fed but will most likely kill for fun. i've had a few cichlids that wouldn't eat other fish but loved to grab and shake them for a while. best of luck.

is he the alpha fish?

In my experience they dont become overly aggressive till they become mature and if there is a fish close to the same size that challenges him for domanace. If there is another top fish then keep an eye on them, one day he will get the bawls and if your not around it wont be pretty.

except the pleco, the other 8 fish live with him in the same tank are under 4" long. he is 9", I used to have 7" oscar and midas with him but they all got bullied. If I had not moved them they would have got killed.
