Hey guys...I'm trying to figure out what the possible parents of my flowerhorn could be. As far as I can tell, he's not one of the established FH varieties. Any suggestions? (Sorry for the crappy pictures...my camera is old)

pearls are outstanding. I would say zz but it could have some texas blood in it maybe. For that quality, it should have better color, that why I'm leaning towards texas blood in it. That and pearls remind me of a texas.

I also want to say ZZ. Has some pontential, watch what you breed him with.

Thanks. Any suggestions to that? I've had him for well over a year now and it doesn't seem to be getting any bigger.

Looks like he has red under all those pearls bring them out!!!Put red rocks and colorful or blue background....and feed him with color enhancing food!!! Like krill prawns shrimp high grade pellets!!! He could turn out to be stunning! Very nice FH... I also at first glanc thought Texas cichlid but I think ZZ now

Right now he's in a 40, but I have a 90 gallon that isn't set up yet. I will definitely take your advice on the red gravel or background...he always seems to be faded with the light on and everything. I've tried feeding him shrimp before and he seems to like him, so I'll try deviating his diet even more. Thanks for the post. ;)
