Flowerhorn Parrot Breeding???

I will post a future thread with all my details - a few storys....

but i would like to stress, i dont want to offend anyone, as i know hybrids are not everyones cup of tea. including my own, but i have them now (long story) and im going to embrace and enjoy them.

Are ALL kirin/kilin parrots infertile?? (for those unsure, they are flowerhorn X Blood parrot) i have a pair of blood parrots - i know the whole story about them, whats fertile and whats not ect...

but i didnt know if ALL the kirin parrots are infertile?? like with blood parrots..... is it just the females??

well first off, flowerhorn parrots or kilin parrots are not actually flowerhorn x parrot as you may think. actually, that cross produces what you'd call a kamfa flowerhorn, although you can get a few random parrot shaped offspring every once and a while, but it's seldom. kilin parrots are generally thought to be line bred down from most short body fh's.
and as for the fertility, i know that females are for sure, but all my males stay too small for me to breed with any of my females; so i don't know about their fertility. i did post a thread about it a year or two back, but got virtually no real answer.

So if a male flowerhorn & a female blood parrot breeds, the fries become kamfa?
Do they usually turn out as normal shaped or short bodied?

so what i have is a nasty old flowerhorn with a funny body?? its shaped a little like a parrot, but i have to admit, its mouths normal and its back isnt as arched as a parrot!

so what size will it grow??
is this "kamfa" going to be as evil as a flowerhorn???
is it going to get a nasty bump???

yours is a kilin, so it shouldn't grow too big. i've never seen one personally grow over about five inches, but they do get pretty gurthy. kilin parrots generally don't get much of a nuchal hump, and they are a lot more well behaved so you can put them in a community. although if you want them to look their best, you should keep them alone.
kamfa flowerhorn generally look a lot like regular zz's with a little wider-set, stockier body structure and a different face. they also tend to have white eyes and full fins.

i've never seen one personally grow over about five inches

that is disappointing, i think after christmas ill be rehoming all my fish and starting with something else. my parrot always hides, my kirin is going to be small and my catfish come out when im asleep.... what a waste
