I have this adult flowerhorn and he does t eat his pellets that I bought for him to grow his hump and color. He only eats blood worms... what should I do to make him eat his pellets?

Starve him a bit once he's been in the tank a few weeks, until then feed him items like bits of fish fillet, earthworms, crickets, etc, once a few weeks pass start the starving process, after a few days offer some pellets, massivore is a pellet that's easy to get fish started on, you can do other pellets later

I normally just starve mine, until he eats. Usually take a day or two. Dont offer him anything else besides a couple pellet a day to see if he’ll eat it. If he doesn’t, take it out so it doesn’t foul ur water. He’ll eventually get so hungry he’ll eat it. Just remember, fish can go weeks without eating so don’t get tempted in feeding him anything else.

I know this is an old thread but I’m having the same problem with my new Flowerhorn, sort of. He will eat the pellets that I got from the person I bought him from, but he won’t eat any other kind of pellet. I want to vary his diet so it’s important to me that he consume various types of pellets as well as freeze dried items, etc.

He will eat some freeze dried items, meal worms, krill, etc. but you put any other type of pellet in the tank besides the one I got from the breeder, forget it, he won’t touch it. I’ve tried soaking in garlic, no joy.

This is the pellets I got from the breeder, anyone know anything about them? Can’t find much online.E01461EC-B98A-4802-B04F-5D4906004911.jpegE01461EC-B98A-4802-B04F-5D4906004911.jpeg
