Flowerhorn progression pics

What's up everyone,

Here's some pics of my flowerhorn's progress. I picked up these guys the beginning of January and one of them stuck out from the rest so I decided to concentrate on him.

Still has a way to go but so far so good. One of the females I picked up layed eggs and it looked like he was fertilizing the eggs but turns out he was too young and was just climbing rope. hahaha. She ate the eggs after they turned white 48 hours after laying them.

nice pick, he's got potential... btw, how are you holding up the egg crate in the tank? is it in between the suction cup holder? I've yet to find a holder that will fit the width of egg crate.

Yep. You kinda have to force the egg crate in between but with a little wiggling, it fits.

haha, nice. I tried to fit the egg crate in the one i have but it split lol...guess ill have to find somewhere that sells wider holders. thanks for the info

For the dividers what you can do to hold the eggcrate is get some 1.5" pvc pipe, cut to length of tank height. Then cut a channel down one side just wide enough for the eggcrate. Then drill a few holes in the opposite side for suction cups. Works the best since FH get big and aggressive and tend to knock aside anything you put up. Also when the pipe is installed the eggcrate slides into place perfectly. Cheap and easy to do. Only down side is you have a white plastic pipe in the middle of your tank.
