Generally yes. Although every fish is a little different.

Flowerhorns are definitly bad asses. Ive seen them whoop other cichlids really bad. My 12in flower horn would try to attack my hands while cleaning and try so hard to get at me through glass. But many fish have diff temperments so no telling how they react. In my opinon keep it by itself. Beaautiful fish though

temperament does vary with individuals, if you're spending big bucks on a flowerhorn I wouldn't jeopardize its health by possibly being attacked by a common RD/Midas
