flowerhorn question???

i put my 8-9" flowerhorn into my new 60 gallon tank and i also put a 3.2" flowerhorn in there and their swiming around together but idk if the small one is a male or female. i was told the female has a black spot on the top fin but idk. can someone help me.

From the picture, the small one looks to be a female, but can't be sure unless you vent it....but it is a good sign that it is a female if the male has not killed the smaller one yet...
