For christmas I was planning on getting a couple 60 gallons tubs for keeping fancy goldfish. The other day I was thinking about how awesome it would be to have a flowerhorn and then it hit me, why not keep one by itself in one of these tubs. The only problem is the fact that each tub is only 6 inches high, perfect for ranchu but questionable for a grown flowerhorn. I also realize that 60 gallons was a little skimpy for an adult flowerhorn. So just out of curiosity, how would a shallow aquarium affect the growth of a flowerhorn or any other large fish. So just to clarify, Im not going to do this i'm just curious. Thanks

Also from a scientific standpoint, how would the development of a small flowerhorn differ from one grown in the shallow tub to one grown in a standard 60 gallon aquarium assuming their from the same parents

i don't think that he will ever reach adult size in that tub as it is just 6" high.i think he will regularly jump out from there and it can be possible that at that instance of time u might not be present over there and u will lose a great friend :(
