My friend got this flowerhorn but he didn't have the time to take care of it. I went over saw this flowerhorn in stinky dirty water, gasping for air....I was like if you not gonna take care of it why buy it? **** Ill take it if you not gonna care for him or else he will die. The flowerhorn show no color really dark....this is after 2 weeks housing at my tank he seem to be happy and his kok is growing out.

Can anyone identify this flowerhorn??? he still seem to be really dark in color. He is in my 55 gallon tower aquarium.

yea i hope so too it was like really dark =_= when i first brought him home....never seen any flowerhorn so pitch black in my life.

I'm glad you saved him

Check your water parameters cuz its still showing stress marks...after 2 wks, it should be accustomed to its new home by now. To help boost his confidence, throw in a female or even a smaller male...this may help bring out his colors. Do remove the dither fish if he becomes too aggressive.

Yea it was me who was stressing him out trying to clean his tank out. He didn't like it when I stick my hand inside his tank lol

Nice job saving him. I too hate seeing fish in terrible conditions. Check your water perameters and make sure you are running good filtration to maximize your FHs potential.

Don't expect it to look super awesome in just two weeks. From what you said it was kept in poor conditions for months, I'd give it at least a month (or more) before he'll really start to bloom again. In two weeks he's already not black anymore, and is starting to show kok/color/markings/pearls. Give him some more time.
