flowerhorn spitting out new life spectrum pellets

hi i just got new life spectrum for my flowerhorn and when i fed it it ate it then some crumbs came outta its mouth each pellet i feed it its like that. It swims fine, and poop is good. very active, etc. i was just wondering is it because the pellets are too big? its a 3.5-4 inch flowerhorn and i got it the medium pellets. I heard somewhere its just because the pellets are much denser and harder than most so they have trouble eating it at first. im not sure i need help thanks.

patience and he will take them, and yeah they might be alittle big but i wouldnt give up on them just yet

All my fish always spit out new food. Takes them some time to accept it.

i just got a 4 inch male flowerhorn. I fed him hikari cichlid gold, and he eats it fine. However, the new life spectrum pellets i was talking about, he eats them, and alittle bit to alot comes out of his gills after a few seconds of chewing. should i keep giving him the new life spectrum pellets? or should i get the tiny tiny new life spectrum pellets for like baby fish and feed him those..

well mine is 3.5inches, I figured the medium sized pellets would be good. they have an even smaller size, like 1mm or something, really tiny for like small fish. I figured itd be too small, and wouldn't give a lot of nutrients,.
