Flowerhorn Stressed?

My flowerhorn turned a dark color. His fins n body are gray/black. Could he be stressed? Hes about 5 inches. I have him alone in a 55 gallon tank by himself.
 
Parameters? wats thats? I know forsure hes not a fader. His body is a grayish color. Also his fins are too. But they switch from regular coloring to gray.
