so im at petco, and they got a few new flowerhorn juvis. There are 2 or 3 that are catching my eye. But what trait should I chose. 1 appears to have a double flower line, one appears to be redder and more dominate (but also slightly larger).

I suggest getting a high quality king kamfa flowerhorn. Don't buy anything from petco, they carry low quality flowerhorn.

*if its ur first fh, try buying some cheaper ones first and gain experience. dont just simply buy the more expensive ones and u might end up bring it to its death with the lack of experience and just wate ue money.
Petco does sell quality ones sometimes.. and the pics u posted looks like red dragon fries to me. and ofcourse they wont show potential in the store but when they are in a better environment they might end up being what u dont expect them to be. :)

I choose flowerhorn fries, in terms of colour, pearls and character.. and yes the more dominant will show better colour compared to the others

As nice as that guy is I'd hate to know how much he set you back lmao.

And cosmic, if you're looking for quality I'd also recommend looking elsewhere. While sometimes you can find a diamond in the rough and a place like petco / petsmart it's not common. You can find all kinds of people online that sell nice flowerhorns for anywhere from $50-100. Only thing is you'll probably have to pay shipping. Have you tried the buy / sell area on here or any Facebook groups? If you need help finding one shoot me a PM and I'll get you in touch with some good people.

I would be interested, but I am not new to keeping flowerhorns, I currently have 5. I would love to find a group of sellers that can sell some oddities, cichlids like festae and trimac and anything cool I haven't even heard of.

How about keeping a vieja cichlid?
