fun video i made to see how my 1 inch flowerhorn would react when i put a slightly smaller convict in with it. the convict was removed 5 minutes later ofc.

when you have a single flowerhorn in a tank you could put a fish 5x in it and it will pick/attack it

An interesting point. How does one, therefore, keep other similar aggressive cichlids with a FH? Should one then keep three or more at a time with a single FH?

A FH is an intelligent fish. Mine can actually recognize and identify as to who feeds it most. It will respond, or follow the person as long as it can across the tank. For instance, while it sort of "wags its tail" when it sees my old aunt who feeds it regularly, it does not respond at all even when others dangle nice fat freeze-dried shrimps in front of it.

My experience with the unfortunate convict has taught me that a determined FH will not give up on its quarry easily. It took several hours almost, but it got to the convict even when it hid under a pile of rocks and trees.
