I recently picked up a 2-3" FH and 2-3" oscar for my 150 gallon. The plan was to have an oddball set up. However, I wasn't aware of this fishes agresssion prior to the purchase...i know, i know, stupid me :screwy:
Here's the list:
8" common pleco
3" senegal bichir
4" black ghost knife
3" tiger oscar
3" flowerhorn

Should I move the FH over to a 55 by himself or do you think he/she will be able to toleratethe rest in the 150 gallon?

I think you'll have problems between the oscar and the flowerhorn. It might work, but be ready to move it.

Well, the oscar has been floating around the top corners and the fh has claimed his spot around the driftwood. The one time I caught them both hudled up at the top corner hanging together though....so idk. I'm afraid to move the bichir and BGK in though in fear of what might happen to them, sorta running a pre-trial with the fh, oscar, and pleco.

i just tried adding my 9in flower horn to my 125g with 10 in oscar this will not work. the flower horn pounded my oscar almost ripped his upper lip off all in seconds.i had to move oscar and all fish in my 125g now just flower horn and smaller female in there. she'll probably have to be moved to at some point too.
i under estimated this fishes aggression.

As did I! Basically, liked the looks of the fish and spontaniously bought one with an oscar without researching enough about them :(. I couldn't take the gamble mixing them, as the oscar got beat up pretty badly last night. So the FH is now in the 55 gallon alone, by himself.

Thats the biggest problem with FHs... Just rotten little attitudes. At least you have the 55 for back up! If you keep him by himself, he will also get even meaner. I have mine in a 150 by himself and couldn't consider anything with him.

Yea, I just can't justify having one fish in my biggest aquarium.

The other bad thing about this breed is that they get rather big which inhibit the need of large space to be able to swim.
