I've got a flowerhorn that I adopted about eight or nine months ago. He has been doing great ever since. He is in a 210 gallon tank with some other cichlids, a giant gourami, and some silver dollars. Everyone in the tank is doing great except for the flowerhorn.
A few days ago I noticed that he was developing pop-eye. I immediately did a 25% water change and added melafix and pimafix (sp?). Over the course of a couple of days it got worse and he got pop-eye in his other eye as well.
Today I purchased a ten gallon tank to use as a hospital tank. I also purchased an air pump and an air stone. To treat the tank I am using Maracyn 2. The temperature of the tank is 79 degrees.
Here are some pictures of the flowerhorn and the hospital tank. I have also included one picture of the 210 gallon tank. Anyway, wish us luck!
