Flowerhorn with wound on his side

2 days ago my male Flowerhorn wounded his side in his tank. I started treatment today with Melafix, but it looks worse then yesterday. I did a water change and kept the lights off to reduce stress. He is still eating fine,but is acting lethargic otherwise. Any suggestions on his treatment? See pics below.

There is nothing coming out the wound and he isn't flashing or scratching on anything......

Salt in the tank, to help with infection.

I believe it wil heal.

Aq salt. 1 tablespoon per gallon

He is also hanging upside down face down at the top of the tank. He has been doing this all day in the same spot.
