Hello MFKers,
Not too long ago I purchased a flowerhorn and a BP that were placed in a 60gal. Shortly after(around 5 days later) they had a clutch of infertile eggs. Sigh. I'm hoping it is from inexperience. The eggs were scattered all around the left side of tank. I was wondering if I should:
Seperate the male and female from each other? They seem to be getting along fine but the male does out compete the chubby gal for food. I have a plexiglass divider cut out already, but i think dividers make the tank ugly.
Remove the gravel? I have a few large rocks in there and a plant saucer but the 2 layed eggs on the gravel. Truthfully, I think it looks great with the gravel.
Feed them more?
Do nothing and leave them alone?
Anyhow any advice would be appreciated. FYI tank is filtered with XP3 and emperor 280. 10% water change every thursday with water thats treated and heated on tuesday.
This is just our family tank. Not trying to be a breeder or anything that involved, but i think it would be fun for my girl to watch some babies grow out.
thanks
