i just recieved a new flowerhorn, it is 13-15in haven't measured exactly yet and it was free, but i was wondering what to expect from this fish as i have never kept one before, it is in a 220 g with a 18in giraffe cat and 12in. lima shovelnose and a couple common plecos. jus curious if this would all work and any info about the flowerhorn from flowerhorn experienced would be of great help

i may be able 2 get 2 more about that size for cheap, but i need some info on these guys

Nice looking beast.

Treat him as you would any large new world cichlid with his diet and water quality needs. Expect some (or a lot) aggression from this guy.

looks a lot like some of the "trimacs" (low-grade flowerhorns) i've seen from petsmart. watch its aggression...flowerhorns and trimacs are known for being aggressive generally

if i were you get a good quality juvy flowerhorn with a good strain, that fish will look the same as he grow older, nothing interesting expected.but for free hell be a good pet,but trust me the best feeling you get is the period of its development, the beauty of the fish reflects to the pet keeper :),welcome to the club :)
