would a flowerhorn be good in a 55 gallon for life by its self?

75/90gallons is recommended but your fish could be housed in a 55gallon for a while. I wouldn't keep one in there for life though.

Divider is usually for breeding purpose or just a temporary/holding/ or grow out tank. I divide a lot of my flowerhorns up into random sized tanks at various stages of their life but it's usually just to keep them from killing each other.

The best way to keep a flowerhorn is a single male alone in a 75gallon+.

totally agree, however you'll come across plenty of FH owners who will say otherwise.

if you must, go w/ a 60G instead of a 55G, normally the 55 is only 12" wide whereas the 60 is 15" wide.
