Flowerhorn

Soo, Flowerhorns are a new thing here in my country.

I have never owned a hybrid before, so i need some help in ID'ing this fish.

He is 1.5"-2" only, i think he looks pretty nice for that size.

Looks like a nice ZZ. The black in the dorsal might suggest that it is a female, but that isn't a sole determining factor of sex. Either way, it is a great looking Flowerhorn.

Oh, cool man thanks, that was quick I'm kinda hoping it turns out male, but i think it might be a bit too small to vent. So i'll just have to wait and see untill it gets 3-4" or so

It's a beautiful zz red dragon. The black on the dorsal is not a sure thing and I have had females that develop decent koks also, so the only way to positively sex fh's is venting. I would assume female till it's large enough to vent.

Thanks man, i think She/He looks great too for a 1.5"-2" fish Definatly got me more hooked on the whole hybrid thing.

I'll vent it soon as it is big enough

Here in Portugal they also started appearing very recently.

Yesterday I bought one exactly like your's, only double the size.

Oddly, long fins do not make it a male. I would hope for it to be a male, but.....
