Hey, usually just surfing the forums but recently got a flowerhorn less than a week ago and I notice that when he’s swimming his torso sort of curls I’ve also attached a video sorry if it’s a little long just this is my first flowerhorn and I can tell that he’s stressed out

Hi mate. Fellow FH keeper in the UK here. I'd love to try and help you out. Do you have your water parameters? He is looking very dark too. Could be a stress thing. Does he have somewhere he knows he can hide in his tank ?

Somewhat yes as I said he’s pretty new so really he just hides and with feeding I have tried pellets and flakes and both he chewed and spit out he will keep down some Cichlid pellets though so I don’t know how normal the spitting out is

yes I’ve noticed he’s very dark as well and I just have no idea if it’s because of him being new to the tank or what and yes I have some decor in the tank and he especially likes to hide in the hole of one. And the parameters are good nitrates were a little high so I did do a water change as well
