i have a male 4 inches Zhen Zhou flowerhorn and 1 short bodied 2 inches female flowerhorn.According to pet store keeper, they are ready to breed as short body will only reach max. 6-8 inches so he said 2 inches is their maturity age and he said ZZ has already attained maturation at 3 inches. Is he reliable and can a long body and short body interbreed, are they ready for it :D.And how many eggs can a female of that or somewhat bigger size lay.I also want to keep them in same tank without a divider as i want to breed them and this cannot be attained without having them together so any advice on making them accustomed to each other will be appreciated.many say that divide them with glass divider and male will then become attracted and will not do anymore damaga, but i don't know the way to know if the male is starting to become attracted or not.but one thing i notice is that he is doing very much more digging than usual and is trying to skip to other divider,so is he attracted.Plz help me.
Thanks for reading and please make this thread interactive by making quick replies.

and i think the short bodied is female and long bodied is male as short bodied have a black dot on the dorsal fin and the long bodied does not have (correct me if i m wrong) and is the short bodied colour dark due to its breeding mode as it is said the female will get dark stripes when ready to breed.
