Have you tested your water?
Yes
If I did not test my water...

Do you do water changes?

Hey everyone. I’ll need to dose my fish to clear up some hex/spironucleus. Currently dosing General Cure (Metronidazole/praziquantel) and wanted to do a round of flubendazole afterward. I’ve been trying to research if it’s harmful for characins; especially silver dollars and wanted to ask if anyone has direct experience with the effects on the silver dollars. Would love to hear any insights. Thank you!

Why do you want to dose flubendazole? Do you think the sd have internal parasites?

The sd’s are fine. The festae have an internal parasite and want to treat the tank. With silver dollars being scaleless, I want to make sure they’ll be ok with the flubendazole that I want to dose.

I’ve used fenbenzadol in shrimp tanks, with knife fish, pictus catfish, plecos, clown loaches and all have faired well.
That’s fantastic to hear. I think I’m out of the woods as fish are perky but will finish this round and then give them some rest before doing a flubendazole treatment.
