I just noticed my little albino O swimming around with odd poop hanging off of him. I have Metronidazole on hand already due to a different infection in my African tank. I'm just not sure what this is or if I'd need something else. I'm hoping it's nothing, but that kinda poo just doesn't seem normal. I've seen stringy white poo before (no worries, that was taken care of a while back with my Africans), but not fuzzy white poo with little pellet-like balls encased in it. o.O Could it just be old poo that hasn't fallen off yet or an intestinal infection? This only started today. I haven't caught my Tiger O pooing yet... but I'll keep an eye on him as well. Please ignore the reflection of an old poster and a few smudges on the tank. ^^; lol

Are you over feeding or is he over eating...what is he eating something new... is he still eating... and swimming and acting normal? if he is i would hold off on any meds... and just keep an eye on him... this piticuliar food may just be that way through his digestive system... Oscar do poo alot..:D

Frozen bloodworms (once a week), HBH Oscar Grow (they love it. o.O), Hikari Krill (just an occasional on Fridays), Hikari Cichlid Bio-Gold +, and a rare earthworm. They eat twice a day (once in the morning and once at night). He's been eating well, but not overly (my Tiger, Okenuth tends to be a bit more... voracious. I usually have to block him with my hand so Spitfire (Albino) can eat. He's been swimming around as usual and doing his usual job of messing up my tank. I hope its just an odd poop, lol. I suppose I'm a little paranoid after a malawi bloat case a few months back with my africans. ^^;

Well I should say his tank. lol.

i am not an expert on poop but i would say he is going to be perfectly fine.. i would just keep an eye on the sweet guy and if you see anything that indicates he is not his old self... then i would medicate and put him in a small hospital tank... but i really don't think this will add up to more then weird poop .. lets hope anyway... he is adorable.... maybe someone will know more.. good luck

Thank you. ^_^

He's definitely acting normal... just rammed his face into the gravel and swam around looking quite proud of himself. I really should set up a video camera for Spitfire and Okenuth... lol.

your welcome... and good to hear it...if you get a video up let me know.
