fluorescent penetration?

Okay. need help. Would be able to use (pic below ) this for my tank? Its an outside tank so im planning on just hanging it. But the bulbs are those ones that you can get at Home Depot, just those regular ones that you put in your garage.

Would that type of lighting be sufficient enough for a 15 inch deep tank?

- No plants.

that would be sick if someone really used that for that purpose, must hurt if its still hot.

Lights like that are fine for no plants. I use a $11 under cabinet light on my 20G, was able to keep hornwort as well as provide enough light for the fish.
