I recently purchased a rimless tank and wanted to get a canister filter for it. The fluval seems to have put out more GPH than the Eheim 2234 even though the Eheim is rated for 60 gallons and the fluval 206 is rated for 45 gallon tanks.

I am leaning more towards the Eheim because its intake tube and output nozzles seem to have a lower profile.

What would you choose?

Here are the links for the two filters:

I haven't had any experience with any of the fluvals, but i have always heard conflicting reports about they're product. Some people love them and some wouldnt waste their money.

As far as the eheim goes, Ive always used them. I have never had any problems with any of their products. I used to own a 2234 and it worked wonders. I personally have 2 2217's running on my tanks right now and they too are great, they've been running like champs for over 2 years.
I recently purchased a bigger tank and am really leaning toward buying an eheim 2262.. Or a fluval FX5

Eheim. Fluval is crap in my opinion, except for the fx5 which is the only good thing about fluval.

+1

besides the fx5 i think the rest is pretty crummy crp...
depending on the gallon and size of your tank i'd go
with a eheim or a mag 350
