I have a fluval 303 and a HOB filter rated 30-60 gallons on a 30 gallon salt water tank, I want to turn this into a reef tank is this good filtration?

depends what kind of reef
for softies sounds A-ok..

if this is supposed to be like an SPS reef i'd say add a small powerhead for some more current

Hmm, I have a small powerhead in there too for current. I dont know, can you put SPS and other stuff together? I just want anemonies and stuff.

Should be plenty. I have a Fluval 205 on a 20g high and it handles quite a load. You might also want to get a foam fractionator (protein skimmer). You'll love being able to change the filter media around. As long as you dont have a high fish load your 303 should keep the water very clean. For reefs ( corals) you don't want any ammonia, nitrate or nitrite. What kind of lights are you running? They are important too.

Gonna go out and get a t5 set up with 50/50 bulbs for 160 bucks, guy at my LFS said it is perfect for the tank. Just bought 30 pounds of rock. 15 pounds live 15 pounds regular bowl rock.

I'm not sure if things are different with salt, but that would be plenty for a freshwater tank.

You need to decide exactly what you're going to keep.

You said you just want "anemones and stuff" but there are several species of anemones, many would grow too large for your tank, and they tend to be unbelievably messy.

That canister filter would be fine for a fish only tank or a fowlr, but it won't necessarily be a great idea for a reef tank depending on the types of corals you plan to keep.
