So I recently purchased a Fluval 305 canister filter. I must say, the assembly was much faster than my Marineland C-360, The adjustable flow rate is phenomenal and its way more efficient than my Marineland Canister. Everything about the Fluval is better. If you can shell out the extra cash($10-$15) for it then do it! Its well worth it! In addition, my fish tank had a horrible odor that wouldn't be fixed by cleaning, water changes or any other "tool" for that matter. The Fluval 305 then came into play......FIXED! I strongly recommend it MFK fam!:headbang2

Thats great. I am also a fluval fan. Did you happen to add some activated carbon into your new fluval? It can help to eliminate smell from your tank.

So from your experience you like the Fluval more than the Marineland c-series. I've been looking at both these filters as possible choices, Care to share what you like about the Fluval over the Marineland?

@Hot slime, The best part about the Fluval canister, in my opinion, is the adjustable flow rate for the output. Its def alot more quite than the marinland and waaaayyy easier to assemble and break down. @Bigbadfish 711, yes, I added a extra bag of small carbon to it and it worked wonders!

+1 for Fluval products! They are the best.

Also i have purchased a JBJ Reaction 4 Stage, it has a built in UV light with its own switch which is AWESOME, UV lights themselves go for $100.

Just another option.

I agree. I run a 305 and 405 and I love them. They're totally silent and the whole flow rate adjusting mechanism/quick disconnect is very convenient
