I just bought a used 240 gallon today and it came with an fx5 and the 404. I cleaned them both out and the fx5 works great. The 404 on the other hand is making this scratching/clanking noise when i plug it in. It also isnt functioning, there is no water in the tubes. I checked the impeller and there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with it. Any ideas guys?

I have had problems with these before. take the top off and plug it in and watch the impeller, to make sure its spinning. there is a circular piece that fits over the impeller with 2 clips on each side. I have had problems with these clips breaking before. They cost about 5 bucks and usually fix my problem.
