Found on of these with overflow box locally for 100. Thinking of changing out my 404 in favor of it. On their site they are rated for 600gph, which is almost double my Fluvals 340. Im also thinking I can just take my matrix out of my fluval, bag it, and drop it in the sump area of the 175 wet dry. Is this a worthwhile change? This is on my 120, where I also have a matrix filled fx5 helping out. Was thinking maybe try and get a filter sock in the wet dry somehow, and us it for mainly mechanical, and fill my fx5 with as much bio as possible.

I run my set up like that, wetdry for mechanical/bio and canisters for bio only.

The wet/dry replacing your 404 is probably the best thing you could do! The benefits of the wet/dry are great in comparison

Awesome. Something to keep in mind. Told the guy I wanted to buy it and would call him after I got off work, and he sold it out from under me. Just called to find its gone. Guess cash is clearly king. Dude was rude anyways so oh well. Gotta keep my eyes open for another one of those. I have been debating building my own sump to replace the 404 as well, but the wet dry idea I liked because the top is closed and the bioballs were right there so figured itd be quieter.
