fluval 404

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i love my 304
i have it on a 55 works great and easy to service

I do not like the Fluval filters at all. I personally prefer the eheim line of filters. My fluval 404 requires maintanence every week, or it will clog, my eheim 2026 will run months without problem.

I've only had to replace my impeller after a year, but it's doing okay. I want to get an Eheim, but they're so damn expensive. I know they're probably worth it, but they can cost more than the tank itself.

There is more that goes into building a quality filter than goes into building an aquarium. THe eheims are worth every penny. I got my 2028s for 75 more than the 404s I have.

Ive had my 2 404's running for 2 years with no problem what so ever. I think it varies from person to person though. I do want to get a eheim but I will when my 404 breaks down and it doesnt look like thats gonna happen anytime soon........................................... post 100 :headbang2

im getting the fluval 404 for sesonal filtration for a koi in a 100 gallon stock tank. my winter indoor set up. its ganna cost me 75$. if i get it. its a new filter we found in the back of the stock room at petco, we don't sell that kind any more so its super cheep.

Well that is a great price for a canister of that size. I personally still wouldn't get it at that price, and would gladly trade all 3 404s I have now for one eheim 2028.

If it's for a koi, I would go with more filteration. If Petco can't sell them anymore, you should see if you can talk them down to $50:naughty:
