Hi,

I am setting up a 75 gallon Mbuna Cichlid tank and currently have two emperor 400 filters for it.

I have found two three month old canister filters and am wondering if either/both would be a good addition.

They are the Fluval 405 and the Eheim 2236 both are $50..

Should I jump on these or are the emperor's enough? (Sell an emperor and get a canister, etc?)

The emperors will get the job done but the canisters will be worth the cost to upgrade.

I'm probably only going to pick up one due to funds, knowing that I have the emperors, which would you pick up?

The Fluval flows more...

Would the Fluval replace one of the Emperors or should I run two emperors AND the canister?

Run both the Emporors and the canister. More filtration is always good. I have a Fluval 405 and love it. I have heard great things about Eheims also, but don't have any experience with them.

Personally, my experiences with Fluvals have been terrible. They just don't last. If I were you, I'd pick up the Eheim. I have several Eheims with the oldest 2 over 15 years with zero trouble from any of them.
