I have 2 fluval 405s and for some reason the impeller covers decided to start falling off. On one the cover would fall off the reattach itself and seems to be staying on for now. The other one won't stay on at all, the odd thing is that this cover is only a month old. Any theories as to why this covers started acting up at the same time?

The covers push on allot harder than you might think, don't just push them in till their tight, you have to hear them snap into place, I have four 405's running and have never had any problems like this.

that's the odd art, I always make sure both clips snap, and I've had the filters for 1.5 years without incident. To make things odder I haven't even touched them for three weeks before they started to act up and I tried tinkering with them

My first 405 is about 1 year old, I liked it and started upgrading the other tanks, the last two were purchased with in the last six months, I sure hope they don't become a problem. thanks for the heads up I will keep an eye on them.

It turns out the clip on the newer cover broke where it attaches to the cover I would have expected a break to be at the "v" in the clip. The older cover has toothpicks jammed n the clip and it seems to be holding for now, will get a new one when lfs get more on fridayFriday. I'm thinking it is wearing out and loosing some of its tightness. I would expect them to last longer but they're $10 so its not really an issue.
