I have disassembled my 55 gallon tank, inside the wall and I’m widening the hole to put in a 90 gallon tank To house one flower horn.
I was running a fluval 407 on the 55, Will that be sufficient for the 90 with a single flower horn or do I need to upgrade to an FX 6.

I currently have a five and a six on my 2:50 and they work great I just don’t want to spend the money if I don’t need to.

Some suggestions on the filtration for the new 90 with a single flower horn would be much appreciated

I always have liked two filters instead of one, no matter the sizes. If it were me, I would keep the existing 407 (assuming it works well) and add a HOB, best an Aquaclear 110. Even with the fx6 in place, I would want another unit. Peace of mind for Murphy’s plays. In a pinch, the110 will hold you over just fine. Because the HOB will be serviced more often, you will gain on that too. All my tanks, 40g and up have at least two filters. Good luck!
