I recently bought one of these and was curious, do I need to use a glass lid with one of these? And any suggestion on light settings if I eventually want to put some reefs in the aquarium?

You don't need a lid but the water will evaporate quickly. Is reef stated on the instructions if not I personally would take it back.

Aquasky is cool but it's only 37watts. If you have a tank taller than 24" you can't grow anything but the mode settings still make it worth it. You have 4 fav I kept at UV purp, night blue, red, and one for daytime. The lightning mode is cool i only turned it on when i did water changes though. LED transformer burned out + the remote stopped working so chucked it.

This will not work for coral.
I have one and I wouldnt put it on salt water other the fish only. It produces so much algae in my fresh water I'd be afraid to us it at all.
