Do you mean a Fluval 07 series canister filter? Which model are you considering?

It should work as long as you follow installation instructions though the largest model (407) is rated for up to 100G aquarium.

The Fluval FX6 would be a better option for a canister filter.

How big is the pool and what fish are you planning on keeping?

I don't think the FX6 would be enough filtration for the pond size or the fish you plan to keep based on other topics I've seen. I have not kept either species before.

I saw you asked in other topics about DIY options, is there any reason why you haven't gone that direction?
