Fluval FX5 Intake PreFilter?

Anyone have a link to a prefilter that fits over the FX5 intake?

Intake it sucking up way too much hornwort needles, and I don't want to have to clean my canister every week.

The Fx5 should not clog for a very long time even if its sucking up all those needles.

Maybe wrap some filter floss around it. Finding a large enough sponge will be difficult.

Using any prefilter will only allow the intake to clog up MUCH Faster. Yes the canister may not clog, but the intake will.

try cutting the hard plastic pipe and making the intake higher.

you could use an Aquaclear 110 sponge and cut to fit around the intake.

you will have to clean it frequentlly though.

but it only takes a minute, and its easier than cleaning your whole FX5..
