Where the gators are
Im starting a build on a 300 gallon plywood tank and was goin to put in a sump but dont have enough room. Im wanting to go with a Fluval FX5. Its rated for tanks up to 400 gallons. And pushes 607 gph. Would this be enough to sustain the tank or would i need 2 of them?

I was going to purchase a 375g and run 3 FX5. But on my 240g I run 2FX5

I run two on my 150 I think for a tank that size your going to find out you will need more then two. If you don't stock heavy though and get some powerheads it might work.

what about useing a sand pool filter?

Yeah you would need more like 3-4, maybe more. I have 2 on my 300 and that's with a 55 gallon W/D.
